"Long-Voyager" (long-voyager)

Got my wiring all sorted on the car (engine at least). Confirmed my Solenoid pack, TCM, and TPS are in working order. Engine still runs like a dream, trans still fails to shift out of 2nd gear.
Now with the bad news out of the way, time for some good news. I got time to do some detailing this weekend, got the girls all cleaned up:
I’m getting anxious to get this trans issue sorted so I can finish the paint work on her.

internal fault in auto?
low trans fluid?
selector cable/linkages all ok?
brake light switch perhaps?
trans speed sensor?
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

The obvious solution is a manual swap.

I’m really hoping it’s not internal trans. It worked fine when I brought the van home, since then it’s been sitting in my garage awaiting use, so I have no reason to believe it’s internal trans.
The fluid level is good, cable/linkages are good/correct, brake light switch good.

Wouldn’t be the first time: https://oppositelock.kinja.com/thought-id-post-up-my-old-acclaim-build-for-everyone-1823032640
Honestly I would if I wasn’t planning on this being my daily driver.

maybe a speed sensor mismatch then?

I’m thinking it has to be a wiring issue somewhere, or the computers aren’t talking like they should.

Maybe.
Ruling things out piece by piece, so hopefully we get it sorted soon.
I’m wondering if my ECM and TCM aren’t communicating ATM.

Yeah or the dreaded pinched wire.
Good luck we need to see this run!

dunno, just seems like a speed sensor issue to me.

Did you spend as much time as I did watching the guy at the Walworth County Fair paint crazy outer space scenes with only spray paint? Because I think that’s why I like this.

It runs currently. I’ve driven it around town some, but with only 1 forward gear, that’s as far as it goes.

Bad knee + a lot of in town commuting = valid excuse.
In reality I could probably handle it if I went stock clutch/flywheel, but my old car was a complete PITA to drive in town.

That was actually an idea my 14yo cousin came up with. I gave him a bare slate and him and my daughters made it come to life.

I’m definitely looking into everything. Currently need to find someone with a reader so I can check for TCM codes.
